What’s more fun than working with animals all day?

Not much! At Kids and K9s Summer Day Camp your child will get to train a specially selected dog while learning about:

  • The Science of Animal Behavior

  • Dog safety

  • Canine body language

  • Kindness, empathy and responsibility

  • How to teach basic manners, agility, nose work, tricks

  • How to solve common problems like jumping

  • Explore careers working with animals from speakers like a Veterinarian, the North Kansas City K9 unit officers, and others

  • Great for Homeschooling Science Credit

This program was developed and will be led by a professional dog trainer and a professional educator. It is designed for children between the ages of 11 and 14, with a maximum of 12 participants. Kids will need to bring their lunches and we’ll supply everything else.

Dogs get to go to Summer Camp, too!

Would you like to give your dog a unique experience? We’re specially selecting 6 dogs for middle school aged children to train. Camp will be held 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily starting Monday, July 29, through Friday, August 2. Each day, Campers will train the dog they’re assigned to in manners, tricks, agility and nosework. The dogs will be given ample opportunity to potty and receive down time with a food stuffed toy. Each day the Campers will provide a Report Card on their dog’s progress and will provide a demonstration for their family and the dogs’ families on the last day of camp. This will be a rewarding and enriching experience for Campers and dogs, alike.

*To help offset the expenses for daily supplies, there is a $50 fee ($10 per day) for dogs to participate.
