First Stages

A solid training program starts at the beginning. That's why we've placed such an emphasis on puppies in their first stages of life. After all, puppies learn many new behaviors in their first months, we're here to make sure they are positive ones. Click here to learn about our puppy bundle.

Our puppy program follows the recommendations of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB):

Where I refer adopters

As a dog trainer myself who works in animal sheltering, I am picky about where I refer adopters, and The Dogs’ Spot is top of my go-to list. This is who I turn to for help with my own pets and where I send my family.

The staff are really knowledgeable and want to help you succeed

Great Dog Training Facility. I first used The Dogs Spot 12 years ago to train my Labradoodle. We just got a baby goldendoodle and went straight back to The Dogs Spot. They only use positive reinforcement training methods. After only a couple of weeks of classes and following instructions my puppy recognizes her name, Sits, Downs, and is learning to walk on a leash. The Dogs Spot offers training from puppy kindergarten through advanced training. The staff are really knowledgeable and want to help you succeed.

PUPPY PREP SCHOOl

Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. with KJ Thies and Angelo James
Saturday at 8:30 am with Jenna Miller and Natalie Perryman

This six-week class is for puppies who start between the ages of 8 and 15 weeks old so we can leverage their socialization stage of development. Older puppies are welcome to join us for Surviving Adolescence.

Start your puppy out on the right paw by safely exposing him or her to the challenges of living in a messy human world. In weekly themed activities, our innovative curriculum integrates obedience exercises such as sit, down, and come when called into real-life situations like dinnertime or being in public. Plus, your puppy will get a crash course in socialization, with friendly exposure to other puppies, people, sounds, and activities.

The Dogs' Spot follows the recommendations of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior for puppy classes.

If you’re in need of some pup training, please check these guys out

I will be the first to admit that after the first week I NEVER thought Finnegan would graduate his Surviving Adolescence class. The trainers at The Dog Spot are SO encouraging, extremely knowledgeable and beyond patient. I cannot thank Laura, Meredith, and our puppy para extraordinaire, Emily, enough!! Our co-graduates were so patient and several commented on Finn’s progress. If you’re in need of some pup training, please check these guys out. I highly recommend The Dogs’ Spot!!

They’ve helped us a lot

We have two pups and have been through the puppy and “Surviving Adolescence” classes. Tracy has taught most of our classes. She’s great, and all of the staff is very knowledgeable. They’ve helped us a lot with training our new pups, keeping them busy, and helping us understand how they think.
