In K9 Nose Work® 2, we continue to develop and build on foundation skills introduced in K9 Nose Work® 1. This six-week class will expand search areas to the great outdoors, increasing distractions and odor complexity. We'll also introduce vehicle searches and other complex and novel hide locations. The Intro K9 Nose Work® 2 class is the next step toward getting handler teams ready to go on odor.

 

K9 Nose Work®3 Birch (Interiors/ Containers)

In K9 Nose Work® 3: Birch (Interiors/ Containers), we take the next step in your dog's journey towards learning the game of Nose Work. In interior spaces and containers, your dog's primary reward (food/toys) will be paired with the novel odor of birch, teaching them that this new odor is rewarding. This six-week class is suitable for dogs that have already learned to independently hunt for primary.

 
 

K9 Nose Work®4 birch/Anise/Clove (Exteriors/Vehicles)

In K9 Nose Work® 4: Birch/Anise/Clove (Exteriors/Vehicles) we take a further step in your dog's journey towards learning the game of Nose Work. In exterior spaces, including on vehicles, your dog's primary reward (food/toys) will be paired with the novel odor of birch. Anise and clove will also be introduced. This six-week class is suitable for dogs that have already learned to independently hunt for birch in interior spaces and in containers.

 
 

Cyber Scent Work® Beginning Elements Trialing Practice

Saturday November 2 at 1:00 pm with Tracy Martin

Join us for a unique experience to practice and potentially earn a title in Scent Work in Kansas City. We're hosting a four week Cyber Scent Work practice where we will offer a different element each week (interior, exterior, container, vehicle). Searches can be evaluated towards the Beginner Title in the Traditional Cyber Scent Work, but it is not required. Participants can choose to search for food, odor or paired odor. Previous Nose Work or Scentwork experience is required - dogs should have experience with hunting for food/toys/essential oil (birch, anise, and/or clove), ideally indoors and outdoors.

Join us for a unique experience to practice and potentially earn a title in Scent Work in Kansas City. We're hosting a four week Cyber Scent Work practice where we will offer a different element each week (interior, exterior, container, vehicle). Searches can be evaluated towards the Intermediate Title in the Traditional Cyber Scent Work, but it is not required. You can start Cyber Scent Work Trialing at any level and do not need to have completed one level before trying the Intermediate Level. Participants can choose to search for food, odor or paired odor. K9 Nose Work® Skills: Out of Reach

In K9 Nose Work® Skills: Out of Reach, participants will have the opportunity to run their dogs through a variety of preset searches with a goal toward developing the team's skill in working inaccessible hides. The definition of an inaccessible hide is one in which the dog cannot get all the way to the source. This class is open only to dogs that have taken an essential oil class. Participants will be welcome to watch other searches as appropriate. Number of searches per class will be three. Setups for virtual Games trialing through Cyber Scent Work (cyberscentwork.com) will be offered during the final class, though this is not a requirement of participation.

 
 

K9 Nose Work® Skills: Out and About

In K9 Nose Work® Skills: Out and About, the focus will be getting your dog out into the community for searches. Locations are yet to be finalized but Macken Park and Lowe's are proposed locations. This class is suitable for teams that have taken at least one 6-week class of Nose Work/Scent Work.

 
 

K9 Nose Work® Challenges

In this six-week class, your dog will encounter Nose Work® exercises designed to grow their skills in hunting for food or odor. We will also add to your dog handling proficiency and ability to read your dog’s searching style. This class is suitable for dogs who have completed K9 Nose Work® 1 or higher, or have comparable skills, and exercises will be modified based on each participant’s experience.

In K9 Nose Work® Search Practice, participants will have the opportunity to run their dogs through a variety of preset searches. Setups will be determined based on participant needs from week to week but will include container, interior, exterior, and vehicle searches as appropriate. Participants will be welcome to watch other searches as appropriate. Number of searches per class will vary from a minimum of two to a maximum of four. Setups and videoing for virtual trialing through Cyber Scent Work are available if interest is indicated.

 
 

K9 Nose Work® offsite Search Practice

In K9 Nose Work® Offsite Search Practice/Cyber Scentwork, participants will have the opportunity to run their dogs through a variety of preset searches. Setups will be determined based on participant needs from week to week but will include container, interior, exterior, and vehicle searches as appropriate, with an emphasis on field trip locations. Dogs on target odor will run first, followed by dogs on primary. Participants will be welcome to watch other searches as appropriate. Number of searches per class will vary from a minimum of two to a maximum of four. Practice, setups, and videoing for virtual trialing through Cyber Scentwork (cyber-sw.com) will be offered, though this is not a requirement of participation.
